This is my first Blog entry so I decided to play it safe and chat about myself...

I have been working here at CartoonStock for nearly a year and a half now and feel in my time spent here I have learnt far more about the workings of the visual industry than I did at University. Now, I will be the first to admit that watching Neighbours twice a day and living on a beer for breakfast, lunch and dinner diet probably didn’t do much to aid my quest for learning. However I do feel hands on experience and getting stuck in is the only way to truely learn the ins and outs of any discipline.

Studying Graphic Communications, I specialised in Illustration (somewhat in a diluted way due to the course structure) and I was never really sure where it was going to lead. Upon graduating, I found myself after wandering around in the big wide world bewildered for a few months, very lucky to come across CartoonStock who gave me a shot at working within the cartoon industry. Being behind the scenes for a while now I have decided this is where I intend to stay. I love working with all our artists and clients, it is certainly never boring, nor predictable. Our artists have so many strings to their bows and specialise not only in cartooning but a wide birth of subjects, from Politics and History to Magicianary!

I like to think my time spent creating work myself has helped me to understand the role of an artist. I hope this makes me easier to work with as a liase, not just for the artist but the clients too. We like to do things a little differently here and I hope all will agree, it seems to work!
