Biography - Matt Morgan was born in London, and having studies scene painting, began working for the Illustrated London News. He studied widely in Europe and also Africa. He was famous for his cartoons attacking the royal family, where were some of the first covering such a subject. Morgan moved to America in 1870, where he worked as a caricaturist and manager of New York Theatres. He also painted my large pictures representing civil war battle scenes.
