However, the promise of a good laugh will always get my attention and my click.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why humor can increase open rates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Why do humans respond so well to humor? It\u2019s chemical. If something strikes us as funny, our brains deliver shots of pleasure-inducing dopamine. His results so far indicate that <strong>cartoons provide powerful and unique reader engagement <\/strong>and may be an untapped asset for attracting advertisers and increasing engagement. <strong>Cartoons attract and hold readers&#8217; attention on websites more than most other content<\/strong> like photos, graphs, etc. <strong>People are more likely to share <\/strong>cartoons than other content, which helps link readers to the originating site and creates social media exposure for the publisher. <strong>Readers of cartoons often spend longer time on a site and read more<\/strong> articles &#8212; both important metrics that advertisers value.<\/p>\n<p>Website visitors who viewed cartoons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stay approximately 22% longer<\/strong> than those readers who view only other content.<\/li>\n<li>Are more loyal &#8211; averaging over <strong>200% more visits<\/strong> than readers of other content.<\/li>\n<li>View more pages &#8211; over <strong>30% more page views<\/strong> per visit than readers of other content.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Share cartoons approximately 35% more<\/strong> than other print content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Email is all about getting users to your site; the promise of a laugh in both places can up your numbers across the board.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartooncollections.com\/cartoon?searchID=BA500460&amp;utm_medium=more&amp;utm_source=content&amp;utm_campaign=open-rates&amp;utm_content=img3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1923\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/BA500460_hi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>But, wait \u2026 are <em>you<\/em> funny? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Maybe, maybe not.
