Pat Byrnes, winner of the National Cartoonist Society’s award for Best Gag Cartoons (2017), has been a cartoonist for The New Yorker since 1998. He has published two books of his own cartoons, and his illustrations grace many books, including Eats Shoots & Leaves Illustrated Edition by Lynne Truss. He is also the author of Captain Dad: The Manly Art of Stay-at-Home Fatherhood. He won another NCS award for his advertising illustration. Previous careers include voice actor, stage comic, ad copywriter, and aerospace engineer.
